I crochet afghans and all of my yarn as well as the large afghan that is almost done fits into this beautiful bag. I am so happy with it!!I got this bag because I needed a new one. I never realized it would be the best bag I ever bought. I Love This Bag!!! I will definitely purchase another one. WELL worth the money!!!!!This is a great medium-sized tote bag for my crochet supplies. It is nicer than I expected and it is loaded with useful features. No more tacky looking plastic bags full of skeins of yarn and half-completed projects that are threatening to fall out and that I tuck behind the couch when visitors show up -- plus, no more lost crochet hooks! The bag is a good size and holds a lot; the fabric is light-weight but feels quite sturdy. The main compartment is zippered and has a large interior capacity and there are slip pockets all the way around (two on each long side, one on each short side). The zipper is the type that leaves a bit of an opening at each end which some might not like. There are three grommet-lined openings on each side of the top for yarn to pass through. There is a large pocket in front that unzips around three sides to open and fold down for easy access; inside are elasticized holders to keep 11 crochet hooks secure. There is also a small zippered pocket for small items and it has a clear plastic cover so they remain visible. There are slip pockets on each side. The back has two large pockets with snap closures. The bag has two webbing-style carrying straps that are anchored to the bag with faux leather patches, and each strap has a faux leather hand grip. There is a removable shoulder strap that is also made of webbing that can be attached via metal swivel snaps to metal rings secured to each end of the bag. The shoulder strap can be adjusted for length and it has a padded fabric sleeve to make carrying the bag comfortable. The fabric features a pretty blue and white pattern with grey and glittery silver accents. The current price of $21.88 seems reasonable. My granddaughter had a week or two that she was interested in knitting. During that time, we gathered a lot of yarn and it was not easy to contain. This bag is small but we were able to cram a lot of yarn inside! It is also very easy to store. The bag has a great pattern and the 12-year-old loved it. For now, her attention has shifted to something else that she wants to master. However, I am very happy to store this bag with the supplies for a time when she wants to knit again.First off, this bag is glittery! Personally, I was delighted by this - but it might be important to know if you're not expecting it. As for the actual function of the bag, it's excellent. It works perfectly to hold my yarn and various needles for crochet and knitting, and I love the yarn hole in the top so that I can easily pull my yarn through without any hassle. The bag is also very pretty and has a handle on top for easy carrying from place to place. Definitely recommend! This knitting bag is blue, white, a bit of green, and silver. It has a metallic shine to it as well. It has a gorgeous color, pattern, and shine! There are two reinforced shorter handles or straps. Plus, a nice long padded adjustable shoulder strap is included. This adjustable strap is removable. But I found it rather comfortable and nice and easy to carry on my shoulder! The zippers all function top notch and are well built.Ok. Let’s get to the pockets and compartments. There are two good sized magnetic snap pockets on the back of the bag. On the sides of the bag, you’ll find four pockets total (2 double pockets per each side). The front of the bag has my favorite zippered pocket/compartment. This compartment includes pockets for your knitting needles and elastic slots for your crochet hooks and a clear zipper storage pouch for your knitting and crocheting notions. A big plus for this knitting bag is that it does hold and fits oversized crochet hooks such as Odyssey Furls crochet hooks. I was easily able to fit six of my Odyssey Furls crochet hooks in these elastic slots and I probably could’ve squeezed a little bit more of them inside of this bag as well if I really tried. You can see this pictured above. The interior of the bag contains six pockets plus the very large and roomy interior or main pocket. There are 6 metal holes or guides for you to guide your yarn through on top of the bag. I was easily able to fit my current knitting project (an ombré gradient shawl) and a spare cake of yarn inside. I could have easily stuffed many more cakes of yarn inside this bag!I just love this knitting bag and I can’t wait to show it off. It will be perfect for travel as well. It would be great take along to a knitting group! So fun!First, I am a crocheter and do not knit so the spaces for knitting needles are wasted space for me. Had it simply been another pocket I could use it with other crochet hooks or accessories. Another thing I did to make this better was the holes for yarn to come through. The fact that yarn tends to be "thready" so if the holes have any roughness around them at all, the yarn will catch on it. I took some clear tubing (for aquarium pumps that I use in a hydroponic set up), cut a couple of short pieces and glued them in place in the holes The tubing is absolutely smooth so the yarn slides perfectly without catching. A plastic straw would probably work just as well, but I happen to have the tubing at hand. I did find the zipper section to be problematic as well - again, yarn being thready, it will catch way too easily between the teeth of the zipper. I should not have had to, but I took a strip of leather I had on hand and glued it around the inside of the bag next to the zipper. The leather creates a protected barrier for the yarn inside and allows me to zip the bag with confidence that I will not catch any yarn in the zipper. I did give this bag 4 stars which may be a little higher than it deserves, but I loved the material it is made from, the thought behind it so it would work as a crochet bag and that it can easily hold all the yarn for a specific, larger project like a wrap-around shawl or afghan. With a few upgrades, this would be a 5 star bag.
